About the rescue
A 501(c)(3) public charity on 63 acres in Middle Tennessee, where horses of every breed and age are taken in and cared for.
How we care for each horse
We take in horses whose owners can no longer care for them, horses that have been abandoned, and horses taken from owners who neglected or mistreated them.
Every horse starts with an individual evaluation. Each one gets veterinary care, including dental work and vaccinations, hoof care, and a nutrition plan that we adjust as the horse improves. Some need long-term training before they are ready for a new home, so we work with trusted trainers to give them that chance.
The drought of 2007 and the economic downturn that followed brought far more horses to the rescue than before, and the need for donations has stayed high ever since.
The rescue holds certification from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and is a supporter of the Mustang Heritage Foundation.
