How adoption works
Some rescue horses need special handling because of where they came from. We get to know each one so we can match them with the right person.

The rules
- Adopted horses must stay with you for at least one year. After that, the horse may be sold.
- If something changes and you cannot keep the horse, it comes back to the rescue.
- Adopted mares may not be bred.
- No horse will go to a home with barbed wire fencing.
- Companion horses are pets and are not to be ridden.
The fee
The base adoption fee is $250. Some horses cost more depending on age and training; each horse's page lists its fee. The fee helps, but it does not come close to covering hauling, vet bills, feed and rehab.
Every horse is health checked, vaccinated, wormed and trimmed, and teeth are floated when needed.
The adoption contract is reviewed with you during your visit.
